About Us

B&R Kennel started in 2018 with the acquisition of our family dogs.  Bug, originally named Lady, earned the named Bug as a pup and it stuck.  Bug and Rex are our oldest members and they are our pets first and foremost.  We health test each of our dogs for hips/elbows/DM.  We began breeding in 2019 so that we could bless others with the same loving affection and protection that Bug and Rex have shown us. 

We breed AKC registered and non-registered dogs.  Our non-registered puppies are purebred and the parents are health-tested.  We have seen many breeders only offer AKC registered dogs for enormous amounts of money.  We are not like those breeders.  We breed because we love the dog and we want to bless others.  You'll find that we provide the same loving care and attention as others do for a fraction of the cost.

All of our dogs are fed Purina Pro Plan Focus, up to date on vaccinations and tested for hips/elbows/DM.  We raise our dogs in our family home and they are our pets first and foremost.

German Shepherds are heavy shedders.  I tell people that they shed twice a year, for 6 months at a time.  Our dogs are great with children and other animals however, I fully recommend socialization and training as soon as you take your puppy home.  German Shepherds are natural protectors of their home/family and they do like to show affection.  German Shepherds need a job, these are not a breed that you can ignore or they will get destructive, they need guidance and they will work hard to please you.
